Always the favourite fixture of the season and KVC nemesis for over 15 years but we finally we did it!
KVC A travelled away with one setter still out injured and had to resort to the one setter system trialled against Rebels. It worked well with Patryk Skorupka running fast attacks through the middle as Knutsford took an early lead in the first set and just kept the pressure on winning out 25-20. A shock for the home team.
They came back in the second and KVC found themselves 17-23 down looking like Fairfield would level the set score but KVC have a reputation for never giving up and they fought for everything.
Long hard rallies, and great combination of blocking and varied attacks turned it around and Knutsford took the set 25-23! Now 2-0 up and full of belief that this was going to be our match, Knutsford lead from the start and Fairfield just couldn’t catch up. It was never easy but it finished 25-23 and KVC finally beat Fairfield!
